About Helena Fiorini

I was born and was raised in Minas Gerais, Brazil, a place known for its hospitality and warmness. Knowing that "it takes a village to raise a child", I am passionate for supporting families as a doula, encouraging, guiding, and comforting families, making families to feel that they are having their best experience during birth and postpartum.

 

My first experience in the birthing world was in June 2013, during my Occupational Therapist degree and I had the delight of supporting some births during my graduation in Brazil. After that, I moved abroad twice with my husband, so also have experience supporting families in Canada and the USA.

 

These experiences warmed my heart and guided my true caring person on my path to becoming a Doula! My wish is to support families in the birthing process in any way they choose, willing to support a person in labor who may choose not to take medication or opt for painkillers or c-section - Doula support can be very valuable in any situation, at home, birth center or hospital! I support families from different cultures and backgrounds, because everyone deserves to be taken care of.

In addition to supporting growing families, in my free time I enjoy indoor gardening, outdoor activities and nature, cooking, coloring and hula hoop have been my distracting activities when I'm not surrounded by my husband and my friendly, sweet French bulldog.
